About this Track

Over a smooth, spacey, mellow 90s style beat produced by Nabil Sioty and mixed by Blakkheart, emerging Irish artist Adam Cats explores how alien invaders might react if they visited planet earth and witnessed all the destruction and chaos caused by human beings.

With a vocal style that hovers between traditional rapping and spoken word, the artist uses a free-flowing ‘stream of consciousness’ form of lyrics to communicate his extraterrestrial musings.

‘If Aliens Came’ is the debut single from Adam Cats, which will be released on Friday, February 26th on all major platforms. It is the first song from an upcoming EP titled ‘Aliens,’ which will be released a month later on March 26th.

Track Lyrics

If Aliens Came
I wonder what they’d make of us
Would they applaud us? Ignore us?
Be afraid of us?
I wonder if they’d take in all the beauty we’ve been raping
And start weighing up a way to save the nature
By displacing us?

If Aliens Came
Descending from outer space
Would we welcome them as our own?
Or as a threat to the human race?
Would we take offence to their presence
Extending hate
I wonder if we’d even mention
The complexion of their face?

If Aliens Came
I wonder if they’d have mercy
Realise we’re like an ignorant child
Unwillingly learning
To live in peace without hurting
The synergies in our world’s wings
I wonder would they reject us
Or help us better our journey

If Aliens Came
And showed us what we were missing
I wonder if we would fight them
Or find a way to just listen
To the lore of their traditions
And cosmic cultural wisdom
Astrophysical depictions
Of fitter visions of living
Where existing isn’t riddled with flippant frivolous missions
Of conditioning positioned ambitions into emissions
I wonder, if aliens came
Would they be distant, observe us from afar
While shyly hiding their existence
Gliding high around our skies with their invisible logistics
Thinking what the heck is wrong with these humans and our insistence
On disparaging our land and the magic that we’ve been handed
Planning damning plans that damage ourselves, and leave our planet
Sick and rancid disenchanted damned and gasping for breath,
I wonder if we asked the aliens nicely, would they help?

Of course it’s silly to surmise if outer spacers did arrive that they’d regard the human race
the greatest earthly form of life, it’s highly plausible and probably probable that aliens would contemplate the earth and see the humans as a complicating nominal and wrongly bonded obstacle bizarre and highly volatile and bottom food in nature’s hierarchy pool

If aliens came they’d probably greet the trees, bees, bugs, fleas, bacteria even the breeze before they greeted or as much as even looked at us reluctant in adjudging us as more than just a substance sucking glutton loving rubbish pushing wonder plucking nothingness extorting all the sustenance and lusciousness our loving planet spun for us

Presumptuous, for us to reckon for a second if the aliens connect it’s human beings they’d be addressing, they could leave us merely guessing if they’re real or merely legend while electing with the flora and fauna how to beckon the secession of industrial aggression joined abruptly by the felling of our residence to teach us all a lesson

Their impression, from the outside looking in we’re like the bully on a planet scaling playground favouring our own desires and amusement breaking rules and injuring, without a notion or a thought for all the other living things

So maybe if aliens came they might start doing our thinking for us, distort is, contort us, warp us, or not even warn us, abort us, not cause they’re planning an invasion, or fancy testing out their newest cavalry of ray guns, not because they want to harvest us dissect or mutilate us carve up circles in our crops or wipe our brains and then enslave us, but because they see the humans as a virus unabated, and have come to earth to free it from its sickness and to save it.

Or could it be, if aliens came to understand our dynasties, if they took the time to unwind our society and came to see that there’s a heavy-headed hierarchy who do the deals and roll the wheels of human violence and greed with the majority of humans aggrieved, would the aliens protect the humans too and see our tyrants deceased? As they conceive, not all humans bring the planet disease.
